Welcome
to my Brazilian Corner, entirely dedicated to this wonderful
country where I was born.
Brasil
was discovered by a Portuguese navigator called Pedro Álvares
Cabral, in April, 1500. It was first named Vera Cruz, later renamed
Santa Cruz and finally named Brasil due to a kind of dyewood
called "pau-brasil" (brazilwood) that was found here
in abundance at the time of the discovery. |
