Isla Victoria and Arrayanes Wood -
|
No
one can miss the excursion to Victoria Island and Arrayanes Wood
when visiting Bariloche. The tour takes a whole day and includes
the navigation on Lake Nahuel Huapi, the tour across the Quetrihue
Peninsula and the visit to Victoria Island.
This
excurssion departs from San Carlos Port, in the central area
in Bariloche or from Puerto Pañuelo, located on the Llao
Llao Peninsula on lake Nahuel Huapis watefront. |
"The
famous Arrayanes Wood, with centennial exemplars of fascinating
Arrayanes trees is located at the Península de Quetrihue. |
Their
cinnamon colored rind, smooth and cold, and their white flowers
resembling orange blossom create in this Wood a fairy tale atmosphere,
that will make you feel like in a different world. As a matter
of fact, Walt Disney got the inspiration for the scenery in the
Bambi movie at this place. The Arrayanes Wood has
been declared a Natural Monument and Protected Area. |
|
After
this unforgettable experience, we embark again to Victoria Island.
This island is 20 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide with
a total surface of 3.710 hectares." |

Lake Nahuel Huapi -
"The
largest lake (210 sq mi [544 sq km]) and most popular resort
area in Argentina's lake district, lying in the wooded eastern
foothills of the Andes at an altitude of 2,516 ft (767 m). Nahuel
Huapí (Araucanian Indian for island of the jaguars)
was discovered in 1670 by the Jesuit priest Nicolás Mascardi,
who built a chapel on the lake's Huemul Peninsula and established
an Indian reducción (work mission)." |

in the marvellous region of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, at
