My Ceramic and
Plaster Crafts
I started
painting ceramics in 1993 and I do it from times to times. Before
I begin painting, I apply one or two coats of white primer, then
I use flat latex paint and finish most of the pieces with solid
wax. I spread the wax all over the pieces and after it dries,
I rub it with a damp cloth. The wax protects the pieces very
well. |

These
were my first ceramic crafts. I gave most of these to friends,
others I still have at home. They were all painted in 1993. |

To make
this angel, I painted it with one coat of white primer. Then
I painted over the primer with acrylic paint (old gold). After
it dried, I painted it with a thin coat of flat green latex paint.
Before it dried completely, I removed the green paint with a
damp cloth to give it this old look. |

This
plaster figurine (Chopin) was done like the angel above, but
instead of painting it with gold paint, I used dark blue over
the primer, then I add a little bronze, removed it with a damp
cloth, and applied a thin coat of green paint and removed with
a damp cloth again. |

These
are the plaster pirate faces I painted for a room I decorated
with a sea theme. Below you can see larger
pictures of them. They were all painted with latex paint and
then I them covered with wax. |
